Target Information

Acetyl-CoA carboxylase plays a crucial role in the production of long-chain fatty acids by catalyzing the rate-limiting step in this process. It performs three main functions: as a biotin carboxyl carrier protein, a biotin carboxylase, and a carboxyltransferase. In chicken liver, acetyl-CoA carboxylase is estimated to consist of 2,324 amino acids, with a molecular weight of approximately 262,706.
