Target Information

Carbendazim is a widely used, broad-spectrum benzimidazole fungicide. It impacts animal-derived food safety primarily through environmental and dietary carryover: when livestock consume feed treated with or contaminated by this fungicide, residues can transfer into meat, milk, and eggs. Because carbendazim is a suspected endocrine disruptor and has shown embryotoxic and mutagenic potential in mammalian studies, its persistence in the food chain is heavily regulated. Strict Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) are enforced globally for animal products to protect consumers from long-term low-dose exposure.
