Interleukin 12A is encoded by the IL12A gene in the dog. It is a subunit of IL-12, which is a cytokine with both immunostimulatory and antiangiogenic effects. It acts on T cells and natural killer cells. IL-12 is involved in positive regulation of T cell differentiation, response to viruses, natural killer cell activation, interferon-gamma production, and immune responses. In summary, IL12A contributes to immune modulation and plays a vital role in coordinating immune responses.
