Target Information

Glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2) is a 33-amino-acid hormone produced by enteroendocrine L cells, primarily responsible for preserving the gastrointestinal (GI) barrier and the normal structure of GI mucosa. It is widely recognized that GLP-2 is co-secreted alongside glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) from L cells in equal proportions. Studies have indicated that dogs suffering from chronic enteropathies exhibit abnormal GLP-2 secretion.
