Target Information
Cytochrome b-c1 complex subunit Rieske, mitochondrial is a subunit of the mitochondrial cytochrome b-c1 complex, part of the electron transport chain. UQCRFS1 contains an iron-sulfur cluster that transfers electrons between other components within the complex. It is found within the mitochondrial inner membrane. UQCRFS1 contributes to efficient electron transfer within the respiratory chain, influencing ATP production and cellular energy metabolism. It is encoded by the bovine gene UQCRFS1. Mutations in UQCRFS1 can cause mitochondrial disease.
