Target Information
UHRF1, also known as ubiquitin-like, containing PHD and RING finger domains 1, is a multi-domain nuclear protein that plays an important role in epigenetics and tumourigenesis. It is a member of the RING-finger type E3 ubiquitin ligases. During S-phase of the cell cycle, it binds to hemi-methylated DNA and recruits the main DNA methyltransferase protein, DNMT1. In a bovine model, it may play a role in follicular growth and development and may be involved in ovarian epigenetic processes.
