Target Information
Bovine Thioredoxin Reductase 1, Cytoplasmic is encoded by the TXNRD1 gene in cattle. It is primarily found in the cytoplasm, where it contributes to maintaining cellular redox balance. It is a key player in oxidative stress control. It reduces and activates thioredoxin, an oxidoreductase containing a dithiol-disulfide active site, which in turn reduces oxidized cysteine residues on cellular proteins. It also acts synergistically with MAP3K13 to regulate the activation of NF-kappa-B in the cytosol.
