Target Information
Bovine Transmembrane Protein 158 is encoded by the TMEM158 gene in cattle. TMEM158 has conserved motifs among class II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, but it also has divergent N-terminal domains encoded by the first two exons. The membrane protein TMEM158 was first reported as a Ras-induced gene during senescence and has been implicated as either an oncogenic factor or a tumor suppressor, depending on the tumor type. TMEM158's role in neuronal survival pathways suggests potential implications in neurobiology and health.
