Target Information
Cytosolic thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) is a crucial enzyme involved in nucleotide metabolism. TK1 catalyzes the first enzymatic step in the salvage pathway, converting thymidine into thymidine monophosphate (TMP). Bovine Thymidine Kinase, Cytosolic is encoded by the TK1 gene in cattle. It is thought to be important for the incorporation of trifluridine into DNA, resulting in DNA dysfunction and cytotoxicity.
