Target Information
Transgelin-2 (TAGLN2), also known as holo-transgelin, is a protein encoded by the TAGLN2 gene in cattle. It shares similarity with the protein transgelin, which serves as one of the earliest markers of differentiated smooth muscle. Although the specific function of Transgelin-2 is not yet fully determined, it is thought to play a role as a tumor suppressor. TAGLN2 stabilizes cortical F-actin, thereby maintaining F-actin levels at the immunological synapse, which allows T-cell activation upon T-cell receptor stimulation.
