Target Information
SERPINH1, also known as Serpin Family H Member 1 or heat shock protein 47 (HSP47), is a protein-coding gene. SERPINH1 is a member of the serpin superfamily of serine proteinase inhibitors. It is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and plays a crucial role in collagen biosynthesis as a collagen-specific molecular chaperone. Bovine Serpin H1 is encoded by the SERPINH1 gene in cattle. SERPINH1 is a collagen-specific molecular chaperone that is located in the endoplasmic reticulum. Its upregulation has been linked to poor prognosis in breast cancer, stomach adenocarcinoma, and esophageal carcinoma.
