Target Information

Leukocyte Elastase Inhibitor (LECT2), also known as Chondromodulin-II (ChM-II), is a secreted protein with diverse roles. Bovine Leukocyte Elastase Inhibitor is encoded by the SERPINB1 gene in cattle. This protein belongs to the B clade of SERPINS and is primarily an intracellular protein that protects the cell from proteases released into the cytoplasm during stress. Its involvement in the resolution of chronic inflammatory lung and bowel diseases highlights its role in inflammation.
