Target Information
Bovine Seminalplasmin is encoded by the PYY2 gene in cattle. Seminalplasmin is a multifaceted protein with antimicrobial properties, transcriptional effects, and potential implications for fertility. It is a 6,000 dalton antimicrobial protein present in bovine seminal plasma, which is shown to inhibit growth and/or RNA synthesis in several bacterial species. It can lyse microbial cells and even some mammalian cells.
