Target Information

Peripherin-2 is a protein component of the photoreceptor outer segment discs in the retina. PRPH2 helps maintain the structural integrity and function of these specialized structures, essential for light capture and vision. It is found in the outer segment discs of rod and cone photoreceptor cells in the retina. It is encoded by the bovine gene PRPH2. It is a photoreceptor-specific glycoprotein that is essential for normal photoreceptor health and vision.
