Target Information

Plasminogen (Plg) is an important enzyme present in the blood, whose function is to dissolve fibrinogen blood clots. In cows, increased conversion of plasminogen to plasmin occurs during late lactation and during postlactation involution. Bovine Plasminogen plays an important role in a variety of physiological and pathological processes and functions primarily through the activation of fibrinogen (Plasmin). Fibrinolytic enzymes are serine proteases that degrade fibrin, collagen, and other extracellular matrix components, thus playing a key role in the blood coagulation and fibrinolytic system.
