Target Information
Vitronectin, also known as S-protein or serum spreading factor, is a glycoprotein found in the blood and extracellular matrix (ECM). It plays a crucial role in various cellular processes. It is found in plasma, the liquid portion of blood, and also deposited in the ECM of various tissues. Vitronectin is encoded by the VTN gene in cattle. The predominance of vitronectin was particularly evident in fetal bovine serum intended for cell culture.
