Target Information

Bovine Pyridoxal Kinase is encoded by the PDXK gene in cattle. This enzyme belongs to the family of transferases, specifically those transferring phosphorus-containing groups (phosphotransferases) with an alcohol group as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is ATP:pyridoxal 5'-phosphotransferase. It is a key enzymatic protein involved in over 100 enzymatic reactions in the majority of organisms. It is a crucial metabolic enzyme of Vitamin B6 that synthesizes a long list of metabolites.

Target/Biomarker Bovine PDXK
Target Synonym pyridoxal kinase; pyridoxal (pyridoxine, vitamin B6) kinase; pyridoxine kinase
