Target Information
Homeobox protein NANOG (hNanog) is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in maintaining pluripotency in embryonic stem cells (ESCs). Bovine Homeobox Protein NANOG is encoded by the NANOG gene in cattle. Research has shown that NANOG has no apparent role in the segregation or maintenance of the trophectoderm. However, it is required for the derivation and maintenance of the pluripotent epiblast and during the second lineage commitment in the bovine embryo.
