Target Information

Metallothionein 1 (MT1) is an essential stress protein that helps maintain physiological balance and regulate immune homeostasis. MT1 was discovered in 1957 by Vallee and Margoshe during the purification of a cadmium-binding protein from horse renal cortex. It regulates metal levels, alleviates heavy metal poisoning, and protects the body against oxidative stress, inflammation, and other cell damage caused by stress reactions under physiological conditions.
