β-Mannosidase, also known as mannanase, mannase, or β-D-mannosidase, is an enzyme with the systematic name β-D-mannoside mannohydrolase. β-Mannosidase catalyzes the hydrolysis of terminal, non-reducing β-D-mannose residues in β-D-mannosides. It is the final exoglycosidase in the pathway for N-linked glycoprotein oligosaccharide catabolism within the lysosome. Bovine Beta-Mannosidase is encoded by the MANBA gene in cattle. Deficiency of the lysosomal hydrolase beta-mannosidase is associated with a lysosomal storage disease, beta-mannosidosis.
