Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) is a interleukin 6 class cytokine that affects cell growth by inhibiting differentiation. LIF regulates various biological processes, including cell survival, proliferation, differentiation, inflammation, and transcription. When LIF levels drop, cells tend to differentiate. Bovine Leukemia Inhibitory Factor is encoded by the LIF gene in cattle. It can enhance bovine oocyte maturation and early embryo development.
