Target Information

Cytosol Aminopeptidase, which is also known as leucyl aminopeptidase (LAP), is an enzyme found in the cytoplasm of cells. LAP preferentially catalyzes the hydrolysis of leucine residues at the N-terminus of peptides and proteins. Variations in the LAP3 gene promoter could be used as a genetic marker and may be very useful for simultaneously improving mastitis resistance and milk yield traits in dairy cattle.
