Target Information
Bovine KiSS-1 metastasis suppressor is encoded by the KISS1 gene in cattle. Kisspeptin is considered an essential factor in stimulating pulsatile GnRH secretion from the hypothalamus. Mutations in the kisspeptin gene and its receptor can cause hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in some species. Research has shown that Kiss1 expression in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus is reduced in dairy cows with reduced fertility.
