Target Information
Bovine Inter-Alpha-Trypsin Inhibitor Heavy Chain H1 is encoded by the ITIH1 gene in cattle. It is part of the inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor complex, which is secreted by hepatocytes into the blood. It is a member of the inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor heavy chains gene family which function as hyaluronic binding proteins. ITIH1 acts as a carrier of hyaluronan in serum and may also serve as a binding protein between hyaluronan and other matrix proteins.
