Target Information

Insulin (INS) is a peptide hormone produced by islet beta cells that regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins by promoting the absorption of glucose from the blood into liver, fat, and skeletal muscle cells. Purified crystalline bovine insulin deteriorates at normal refrigeration temperature (5 degrees C) and should be stored at -20 degrees C to ensure stability.
