Target Information
Bovine Histidine-Rch Gycoprotein is encoded by the HRG gene in cattle. HRG is a multi-domain protein that binds to various ligands, modulating several biological processes. It plays roles in immunity, cell adhesion, angiogenesis, and coagulation. HRG interacts with heme, dyes, and divalent metal ions. HRG is synthesized primarily in the liver but can also be produced by monocytes, macrophages, and megakaryocytes. It has been proposed as a potential plasma biomarkers of anabolic treatments with corticosteroids.
