Target Information
Gap junction protein alpha-1 (GJA1) is also known as connexin 43 (Cx43). Bovine Gap Junction Alpha-1 Protein is encoded by the GJA1 gene in cattle. GJA1 is 1 of 4 connexins that contribute to the development of gap junctions in the preimplantation embryo. Bovine embryos cultured in vitro exhibited a lower expression of GJA1 and were associated with changes in embryo quality.
