Target Information
The Folate receptor gamma, encoded by the FOLR3 gene in cattle, plays a crucial role in folate uptake. It is primarily localized in haematopoietic tissues, such as the spleen and bone marrow, where it functions as a secretory protein. Interestingly, an increase in FOLR3 levels can effectively mitigate homocysteine (Hcy) in the blood, thereby reducing Hcy-induced toxicity-even in tissues with low expression levels of FOLR1 and FOLR2.
