Target Information
NADPH:adrenodoxin oxidoreductase, mitochondrial is an enzyme located in the inner mitochondrial membrane that transfers electrons from NADPH to adrenodoxin, a small iron-sulfur protein. This electron transfer is essential for various functions in the adrenal glands and steroid hormone biosynthesis. It is found within the mitochondrial inner membrane. It is encoded by the bovine FDXR gene. It is required for biogenesis of iron-sulfur clusters and for steroidogenesis.
