Specifications
Target Information
Fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase 1 (FBP1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate to fructose 6-phosphate in gluconeogenesis and the Calvin cycle. Phosphofructokinase (PFK) catalyzes the reverse conversion of fructose 6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate, but this is not a simple reverse reaction due to different co-substrates. Bovine Fructose-bisphosphatase 1 is encoded by the FBP1 gene in cattle. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in glycolysis, catalyzes the hydrolysis of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate (F-1,6-BP) to fructose-6-phosphate and inorganic phosphate.
