Target Information
Bovine DNA Excision Repair Protein ERCC-1 is encoded by the ERCC1 gene in cattle. It is a critical gene within the nucleotide excision repair pathway. ERCC1 forms a complex with ERCC4 (XPF), creating the ERCC1-XPF endonuclease. Together, they participate in DNA repair by recognizing and excising damaged or mismatched nucleotides. Specifically, ERCC1-XPF targets bulky DNA lesions, such as those caused by UV radiation or chemical mutagens.
