Target Information
Dipeptidase 1 (DPEP1), also known as renal dipeptidase, is a membrane-bound glycoprotein responsible for hydrolyzing dipeptides. It is predominantly found in the microsomal fraction of the porcine kidney cortex. Bovine Dipeptidase 1 is encoded by the DPEP1 gene in cattle. DPEP1 is implicated in the renal metabolism of glutathione and its conjugates and is also responsible for hydrolysis of betalactam antibiotics.
