Specifications
Target Information
Acyl-CoA-binding protein is a small, intracellular protein that binds to long-chain acyl-CoA molecules, facilitating their transport and distribution within the cell. Acyl-CoA molecules are essential intermediates in various metabolic pathways, including fatty acid metabolism and cholesterol biosynthesis. It is encoded by the bovine DBI gene. In cows, the highest concentration of acyl-CoA binding protein was found in liver cytosol and the lowest in muscle and mammary gland.
