Target Information

Bovine Collagen Beta(1-O)galactosyltransferase 1 is encoded by the COLGALT1 gene in cattle. COLGALT1 is one of two enzymes responsible for transferring galactose moieties to hydroxylysine residues of collagen and mannose binding lectin. Essentially, it modifies collagen by adding galactose groups to specific sites. This process is crucial for collagen stability and function. It has been reported that biallelic COLGALT1 variants are associated with cerebral small vessel disease.

Target/Biomarker Bovine COLGALT1
Target Synonym collagen beta(1-O)galactosyltransferase 1; GLT25D1; procollagen galactosyltransferase 1; glycosyltransferase 25 domain containing 1; glycosyltransferase 25 family member 1; hydroxylysine galactosyltransferase 1
