Target Information

Cyclin D2 is part of the cyclin family, which controls cell cycle progression. It specifically regulates the G1/S transition, a critical step where cells move from the G1 phase (cell growth) to the S phase (DNA replication) in preparation for cell division. Bovine G1/S-Specific Cyclin-D2 is encoded by the CCND2 gene in cattle. CCND2 is a crucial regulator of muscle progenitor cell differentiation. Studies have demonstrated that CCND2 is a downstream gene of MyoD1 and is closely linked to muscle formation and differentiation in Guanling cattle through the Pl3K-AKt signaling pathway.
