Target Information

Cathelicidin-3 (Cath-3) is a cationic antimicrobial peptide (CAMP), a type of molecule produced by the immune system that helps fight against infections. It is found in the epithelial cells of the skin, mucous membranes, and other tissues throughout the body. Cathelicidin-3 is encoded by the bovine gene CATHL3. It is a member of cathelicidins which comprise a major group of host-defence peptides.
