Target Information

Calpain-3 (CAPN3) is also known as p94. Bovine Calpain-3 is encoded by the CAPN3 gene in cattle. It is a member of the calpain gene family and is mainly found in skeletal muscle, especially in type II fibers. It is a protease that can restore protease function after autolysis and hydrolysis through the process of intermolecular complementation. Calpain-3 plays a role in muscle fiber calcium release, muscle sarcomere structure, and muscle remodeling.
