Target Information

Bovine Beta-1,4-Galactosyltransferase 1 is an enzyme that transfers a galactose sugar molecule to specific glycoconjugates, involved in the biosynthesis of complex carbohydrates, such as glycoproteins and glycolipids. It is found in various tissues, including the Golgi apparatus of cells. It is encoded by the B4GALT1 gene in cattle. It is one of seven beta1,4-galactosyltransferases, and is an enzyme commonly found in the trans-Golgi complex that adds galactose to oligosaccharides.
