Target Information

Annexin A2 (ANXA2), also known as annexin II, is a multifunctional protein encoded by the ANXA2 gene in cattle. Annexin A2 is involved in cell motility, especially that of epithelial cells. It is a membrane-binding protein. Research has shown that binding of clumping factor B (ClfB) to AnxA2 has a function in promoting Staphylococcus aureus internalization. Targeting the interaction of ClfB and AnxA2 may confer protection against S. aureus mastitis.
