Target Information

Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) is a secreted glycoprotein that plays a significant role in vascular remodeling and angiogenesis. It is part of a family of vascular growth factors involved in embryonic and postnatal angiogenesis. Bovine Angiopoietin-2 is encoded by the ANGPT2 gene in cattle. Angiopoietin-2 is directly involved in the extravasation of neutrophils. ANGPT2 may play a role in the genetic control of somatic cell score in German Holstein cattle.
