Target Information

The Alpha-2A adrenergic receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) associated with the G_i heterotrimeric G-protein. It consists of three highly homologous subtypes: α2A, α2B, and α2C. Bovine Alpha-2A Adrenergic Receptor is encoded by the ADRA2A gene in cattle. It is the main presynaptic inhibitory feedback G protein-coupled receptor regulating norepinephrine release. Activation of ADRA2A inhibits cAMP production and reduces lipolysis in adipocytes.
