Target Information

Bacillus anthracis is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped bacterium responsible for causing anthrax, a fatal disease affecting livestock and sometimes humans. The edema factor (EF) gene (cya) in B. anthracis encodes a calmodulin-dependent adenylate cyclase, and EF is a component of the bacterium's tripartite protein exotoxin.
