Target Information
3-Phosphoglyceric acid (PGA) is the acidic form of 3-phosphoglycerate or glycerate 3-phosphate (GP or G3P). This compound is an important metabolic intermediate found in both glycolysis and the Calvin-Benson cycle. Glycerate 3-phosphate, derived from 3-phosphoglycerate, serves as a precursor for serine, which can subsequently produce cysteine and glycine via the homocysteine cycle.
